Easy Balloons

Welcome 15.03.15
Greetings pop pickers and a very warm spring-like welcome to you. Thanks for dropping by. If you are here on the pretext that you thought we offered cheap balloon flights, apologies but we don’t and direct you to our page on ‘Ride Operators’ to your left. What we do is look after the airworthiness of all types, shapes and sizes of hot air balloons along with all the paraphanalia that goes with them. We loosely refer to it as a job but actually it isn’t really, its just something we enjoy doing. Its true to say it is very seasonal and this season has been no different but things are stirring the fields are drying and the passenger balloons have been dusted down and we hear some are flying. Likewise as the weather improves and everyone that has gone off for a long weekend flying in Europe is now fed up with cold and snow so they are now settling into a bit of home flying again. Welcome 18.02.15
Happy everything to you all and thanks for dropping in Murgatroid. Seems today is lovely and sunny here but a bit of a breeze and the ground wet enough to sail on. This time of year sees a mountain of family birthdays including me and me dog’s so unfortunately things get a little out of order and before rumour control goes mental yes it is my sixtieth and it doesn’t seem that long ago I was at school working out the year in which I’d reach such an age! Now I have realised that it didn’t take that long to get to here (o: Before I forget and you think this is a rambling bonkers site devoted the strange and obscure (you are probably close to the mark however) Easy Balloons is an Airworthiness type Organisation looking after all aspects of hot air ballooning but we don’t do rides, mend curtains or sell party balloons. Right that’s that done. [more…]

Welcome 26.01.15
A very Happy, albeit belated, Happy New Year to you all. Let’s have a great one. January is always a quiet month for us which means we can get on with all those roundtoits that have piled up and get the backlog of non-essential paperwork sorted ready for the season’s start. Like Balloon Ride Operators in about May who are worrying themselves silly that the weather is worse than the year before. Come year end it is usually pretty much the same and so we suffer the same itch thinking there is nothing happening but checking the diary from last year it’s just the same. Things don’t really get going until the end of February which will give us time to sort bathrooms out! [more … ]

Welcome 23.12.14
Well here we are nearly at the end of another year. Before we go any further thankyou very much for your custom and support it really is very much appreciated. We are extremely lucky in having such a great pile of friends some who have even discovered they can drop by in purely social sort of way. As a lot of you will have noticed we have been using the back field a lot more this year which has meant that it is far more convenient to do those while you wait jobs at the time of the inspection even if you have to clutter off to the Black Horse for lunch. Welcome 29.11.14
Greetings to you all and thanks for trotting by. You are at the opening bit of an organisation that looks after the continuing airworthiness of hot air balloons for some smashing super people. Now you may well be forgiven for wondering why there are articles on stuff as far from balloons as you can get but that is the way it is so if you like a bit of diversity please have a wander round and we hope you leave with a smile on your face much like we do when we float off into the wild blue yonder. That’s the introductions done and in contrast to what we just said there are two balloony articles up this time one on Base and Line Checks and the training requirements for them, something that has been a long time coming in print. Welcome 27.10.14
Time has whizzed by and despite having a break and me a pseudo holiday which didn’t happen we are back to working for a living. As always we have to point out that in the real world we are a Continuing Airworthiness Organisation looking after hot air balloons. I can think of worse jobs. We had a visit back awhile from a couple of budding film-makers who, for some obscure reason, elected to make a film of our daily wotsits at the workshop. It is now out at https://vimeo.com/108988167 and is called baskets and burners. It’s a gentle film and reminds us that we now look older than we were and I need to loose a stone! Thanks Diego it is really nice. [more …]

Welcome 29.09.14
Honestly I’m really not trying to make this a monthly bit of splurge its just that the weather has been great and both the sun and I have been out! John being away on his holiers hasn’t helped nor has later than normal evenings trying to sort out the far workshop. Never mind, thankfully there hasn’t actually been that much balloony news about as it happens apart from a succession of weather friendly balloon meets to report on so that’s fine by us. Before I forget again if its your first visit a very bright and jolly hello to you. We are really a Part M Organisation looking after the airworthiness issues of balloons various. There, that’ll do, sponsor happy [more … ]

Welcome 02.09.14
ts happened again, a longer than planned gap in putting something up. Weather, you see, and the ongoing saga of too much to do. Anyway here we are again bidding you a fond and smiley hello. We are still a Part M thingy looking after hot air balloons so that has got that seen off. Moving on since the last scribblings we have had a nice trip down to Bristol and nearly went to the Fiesta. It was to have a face to face with the CAA’s Andrew Haines and Tony Rapson who were admirably propped up by Messrs Ian Chadwick and Mark Shortman. Following a nice tour around the Cameron factory a pleasant chat was had with them over a mug of coffee. Andrew Haines and Tony Rapson numbers one and two at the CAA, took the bold step to come and meet up with balloonists at the mighty Bristol Balloon Fiesta. [more … ]

Welcome 05.08.14
Been a long break since we last put fingers to keyboard so apologies to start with followed by the inevitable what we do stuff like hi and welcome if you haven’t been here before and expect to find useful and relevant stuff on balloons and airworthiness. It is here somewhere and we thankyou for looking. We do obviously look after the continuing airworthiness of balloons as a Part M organisation if you actually give a flying ferrit and do try and keep things airworthiness as simple and as cheap as possible for balloonists Eurowise. Thank you for your support we do really appreciate it. [more …]

Welcome 09.07.14
Here we are despite being rather dodging from pillar to post we have managed to get stuff done and have actually be very busy. Just in case you thought you had got the booking page of a balloon ride business apologies you have actually arrived on the site of the business that keeps Ride Balloons in the air and looks after the needs of those that choose to balloon as a sport. That is a Part M EASA-type organisation which I have to say is something we would like to be rid of so that we can get back to ballooning for fun and support those that earn a living from it without all the nonsense and bureaucracy that goes with it never mind the outrageous salaries earn by the Euromuppets that run it all.
